Hill Country wineries mix polished tasting rooms with gravel paths, lawns and vineyard rows. Dress for both.
Shoes first
Wedges, block heels, boots or nice sneakers. Stilettos and gravel don't get along.
Bring a layer
Tasting rooms run cool, and evenings drop fast in spring and fall. A denim jacket or light wrap is perfect.
Skip white if you're nervous
Red wine happens. Prints and darker colors are forgiving and look great against green vines and limestone.
Sun essentials
Sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat for patio stops. In summer, breathable fabrics are a must.
Make it easy on yourself
